South Africa: Adeleth Valoyi

Adeleth Valoyi’s journey is one of perseverance, growth, and learning to lead her business with confidence and self‑control. Through the Sunrise Campaign, she learned to value herself, manage her emotions, plan her business, and understand the importance of time management, marketing, and customer care.

These lessons strengthened Adel Space Shop, where she sells everyday essentials such as vegetables, eggs, cream, pens, and homemade food products, serving mainly social grant beneficiaries and students. As her confidence grew, she became more intentional about managing her stock, keeping records, and maintaining a clean, welcoming space that attracts customers, even offering small gestures like free snacks for children.

Despite challenges such as transport limitations, customers buying on credit, limited storage space, and the risks of selling perishable goods, Adeleth adapted by selling door‑to‑door, attending busy community events, and continuously expanding her product range. Today, her business supports her family, improves her living conditions, and allows her to save through a savings club, reflecting a powerful shift toward independence, stability, and hope for a more sustainable future.
