Zimbabwe: David Dube

My name is David Dube. The most memorable moment is when Gender Links (GL) indicated to me that I made a lot of money which I was not aware of because I had no business records. I joined the programme in 2022. GL visited three times. I am now recording all my business activities. I gained confidence in my thinking and actions.
My main challenge was to plan and write it in detail. I overcame the challenge by having action plans that are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time framed. I had made a wrong decision earlier in life and that had brought my business to its knees. GL taught me not to give up in life. I am now eager to restart for l am confident that I will be successful.
Opening up to those around oneself is important. I discuss my future plans with my children. My daughter is very supportive. She even opens up to me about her future plans. I am at peace with myself and also confident that I am on the right path. I have realized that economic freedom brings power to oneself. Fear and low self-esteem are driven away. The community also respects one who is economically independent.
The government is coming up with policies which are friendly to arts and craft people. I am also happy that the government is helpful to such programmes.
