Women’s Voice and Leadership South Africa Fund

The Renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership South Africa fund is a feminist funding initiative supported by Global Affairs Canada that promotes the full enjoyment of human rights and gender equality for women and girls in South Africa in all their identities. The fund supports 48 Women’s Rights Organisations (WROs) and movements working to empower women, amplify their voices, and advance the protection of their rights especially those from marginalised communities. The Fund aims to build strong, sustainable feminist movements that can drive lasting change.

The Renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership project strengthens grassroots women’s rights organisations that are often underfunded yet play a vital role in advancing gender equality, protecting human rights, and driving social change. By supporting and building the capacity of these organisations, Gender Links helps ensure that women and girls, especially those most marginalised have a stronger voice, greater agency, and access to the resources they need to thrive.

Gender Links works closely with grantees as implementing partners by providing technical support, capacity building, and regular monitoring to ensure effective project delivery. Through a collaborative approach, GL strengthens organisational systems, fosters learning, and promotes accountability, while empowering partners to lead transformative initiatives that advance gender equality and women’s rights.
