Botswana: Healthy living combats non communicable diseases


The article reports on a health run hosted by BW Women’s Race in Gaborone on 29 November, aimed at promoting healthy living and raising awareness about non-communicable diseases. The event focused on women’s health under the theme “standing with women and girls in health” and encouraged participants to better understand, manage and treat health-related conditions.
The organiser, Kesego Kebelaele-Okie, highlighted that non-communicable diseases remain a major health challenge in Botswana. Men were encouraged to participate in the run to show support for women’s health, while health service providers offered on-site screening services to participants.
