Gender Links Botswana advances gender equality and women’s empowerment through programmes on: gender-based violence, local action for gender justice, sexual and reproductive health and rights, economic and climate justice, and women’s political participation. Working with local councils under the Centres of Excellence initiative, the office supports gender-responsive governance, advocacy and community dialogues.
Key achievements include strengthening women’s voices in decision-making, promoting sustainable livelihoods and building partnerships with women’s rights organisations. Challenges persist in terms of limited donor funding, grassroots capacity and institutional buy-in, but despite this, Gender Links Botswana is recognised as a leading voice in advancing gender justice.
