In a society where family planning is often viewed as a woman’s responsibility, an increasing number of Zambian men are beginning to challenge that narrative. The Langiza Chikondi Clinic in Lusaka, run by the World Vasectomy Day (WVD) Zambia, has recorded a 37 percent increase in men opting for vasectomy, a permanent family planning method.
Health experts say the trend marks a positive shift toward shared responsibility in family health, while couples who have undergone the procedure say it has strengthened their relationships and improved their quality of life.
