Angola: Strengthening greater social inclusion and non-discrimination in communities

This story highlights PMA’s work in Angola to strengthen inclusion, leadership and equality for women, youth and persons with disabilities through evidence-based programming, digital literacy, GBV response and regional advocacy.

Veronica Sapalo, founder of PMA, leads inclusive initiatives addressing exclusion, weak leadership representation, and gender-based violence. PMA created community-driven programmes combining capacity building, digital literacy, GBV response, advocacy, donor alignment, and regional collaboration. Women, youth and persons with disabilities gained skills, leadership pathways and greater safety through survivor-center interventions. PMA’s MEL systems track impact, influence national policy, and support replication of inclusive models across SADC. Sustainability is achieved through community ownership, partnerships, multi-year resource mobilisation and embedding programmes in schools, cooperatives, and local institutions.
