Nomthandazo Mankazana-Mokoa is the WVL SA Manager. She started her career working as an intern at GL in 2011. She was promoted to Gender and Governance Officer, Executive Assistant, and then Alliance and Partnerships South Africa Officer. Between 2015 and 2019 Mankazana-Mokoa completed her Bachelor of Social Science degree from Monash University in South Africa, where she majored in Criminology and International Studies.  She volunteered at the Kwa-Thema Trauma Centre located at the Kwa-Thema Police Station; consulted with South African Women in Dialogue (SAWID) and worked as the EU project coordinator at the National Shelter Movement of South Africa based at Nissa Institute for Women’s Development office. She has contributed and gathered data for research conducted by the Heinrich Boell Foundation and the National Shelter Movement, Housing women who have experienced abuse: Policy, Funding and Practice: Profiling shelters in KwaZulu-Natal, Northern Cape and Eastern Cape.
