Triangle Project

The Triangle Project is a non-profit human rights organisation offering professional services to ensure the full realisation of constitutional & human rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex (LGBTQI+) persons, their partners, and families.

Our initiative aims to combat gender-based and intimate partner violence within LGBTQI+ relationships in South Africa. Despite legislative advancements, such as the 1998 Domestic Violence Act recognizing various forms of abuse, significant gaps remain in addressing intimate partner violence in LGBTQI+ contexts. Survivors, particularly women in same-sex relationships, often lack adequate support and healing through collective care. This deficiency in policy implementation leaves them without proper assistance and protection, exposing them to harassment and discrimination in a heterosexist society.
