Tosunga Baninga

Tosunga Baninga is a Community-based Organisation that supports the survivors of gender based violence, rape and femicide. The name, Tosunga Baninga, means helping to help others. Tosunga Baninga has an over night shelter that is inclusive of lesbian and bisexual women.

The campaign aims to challenge existing attitudes surrounding GBVF. Building on our ’Not Business as Usual’ campaign, which started in 2021, we ultimately want to scale this campaign nationally and envision a ’Change the Script’ campaign. We aim to retain the accountability aspect of the ’Not Business as Usual’ campaign but to go further and offer those in the criminal justice system examples of how they can change their behaviour to adopt a more responsive and victim-centric approach to addressing GBVF.
