The People’s Matrix Association is dedicated to advancing human rights in Lesotho, with a particular focus on SSOGIE (Sex, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Gender Expression). We offer a range of free services to LGBTIQ+ community members in Lesotho from HIV prevention and treatment, information dissemination to menstrual and mental health services.

Project: Reclaiming our voices; Building safe, visible and empowered LGBTIQ+ community in Lesotho

The initiative aims to make Lesotho a safer and more accepting country for LGBTIQ+ people by reinforcing family and community support systems, expanding safe spaces, and fostering acceptance through dialogue. It raises visibility by making documentaries and podcasts about real-life stories of resilience and transformation. Through the scaling of the VIEWs system, it improves safety and access to justice. Through training and exchange, it also fosters inclusive leadership and regional solidarity. Lastly, the campaign empowers LGBTIQ+ individuals and allies to have a vibrant, interdependent movement for dignity, visibility, and lasting social change.
