The Organisation for Young Womens Dignity

The Organisation for Young Women’s Dignity (TOFYWD) was established to uplift and restore the dignity of young women by providing community service to young women between the ages of 15 to 35 years, who are in and out of school. The Organisation’ss focal areas are gender based violence, teenage pregnancies, education for young mothers, and other related social challenges faced by young women. The vision of the organisation is to see a society where young women are valued and treated with dignity. Our mission is to empower young women with the skills, knowledge and resources they need in order to live a life worthy of honor and respect.

This project aims to reduce Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and period poverty within Region C of Johannesburg by addressing key areas of education, support, and advocacy. It seeks to empower beneficiaries by providing comprehensive education on the intersections between GBV and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), fostering an understanding of how these issues affect communities.

The project will actively promote the use of the Eyerus GBV app, a tool designed to enhance support for survivors and raise awareness around GBV. Furthermore, it will advocate for the provision of free sanitary wear to all young women.
