Masimanyane Women’s Rights International

The Masimanyane Women’s Rights International aims to eradicate gender-based violence in order to achieve a healthy, safe, secure, equal, responsible and supportive society for all women and girls.
We provide a comprehensive GBVF response by improving access to support services for survivors of rape and domestic violence in the Eastern Cape, while holding perpetrators accountable through intentional local-level advocacy. It focuses on human rights education to young people through a process of building agency and empowering community leaders with knowledge of national protection mechanisms. It serves to help young women enhance their independence and decision-making. Masimanyane operates primarily in Buffalo City Metro and Amathole District but may extend activities to other districts based on the needs of women’s groups across the province, ensuring flexibility to emerging calls for support.
