The project name “Open Hands” seeks to challenge deeply rooted stigma, discrimination, and marginalization of LGBTIQ individuals in Botswana by advancing their access to psychosocial support. Despite incremental legal progress, societal attitudes and health system discrimination continue to undermine the rights, dignity, and health of LGBTIQ people.

Project: Open Hands
The project name “Open Hands” seeks to challenge deeply rooted stigma, discrimination, and marginalization of LGBTIQ individuals in Botswana by advancing their access to psychosocial support. Despite incremental legal progress, societal attitudes and health system discrimination continue to undermine the rights, dignity, and health of LGBTIQ people. Through community-driven advocacy, strategic partnerships, and legal education, we aim to create safer environments and inclusive services. This project will build a strong local movement advocating for psycho-social support as a human right while contributing to long-term change in social norms and public policy.
