Epic Youth Matters was established in response to the growing need for an effective method of helping youth/youth workers and youth organisations become more relevant in assisting young people to face the challenges of everyday life in South Africa. It has since developed over the years in response to the crisis we are currently facing in South Africa which is gender based violence.

The WVLSA project aims to heal, restore and empower young women and girls who have experienced abuse and prevent girls from becoming pregnant and uneducated. We also aim to heal, restore, empower boys and prevent them from becoming perpetrators of abuse. We aim to change behaviour and mind sets of people so that women will not be abused and men will not abuse and that men and women will see each other as equals and treat each other equally.
