The Amanzimtoti Trauma Unit was established by Johnny van Rensburg and volunteers from our community. It was established due to the increase in domestic violence and abuse cases in our area. We provide care, support, accommodation and counselling for victims of crime and abuse. We also empower and attempt to improve the position of woman and girls in the areas of domestic violence, sexual offenses and family related matters.

The aim of the WVLSA project is:

• To reduce incidences of GBV and DV by raising awareness among different target groups on GBV, DV, LGBTQIA+ issues and healthy family relationships.
• To train and equip key people on how to accompany, support, counsel and empower victims of GBV and DV.
• To continuously support/motivate survivors of GBV & DV to never have to return to any abusive relationship by empowering them and by increasing their sustainability rate.
