SADC: More awards simply mean well done

Recapping the Voice and Choice 2026 Summit, it was truly a great experience once again to be part of such an inspiring gathering. At Sasopsbiz Foundation, we strongly believe in continuous learning and networking to build meaningful relationships with other organisations, and this summit provides exactly that platform. As an organisation, we are also given the opportunity to showcase our work through presentations. This not only helps us grow as an organisation but also builds confidence in our representatives. It allows us to share our impact while receiving valuable feedback from judges, helping us identify areas for improvement when we return to our communities.

One of the highlights of the summit was the opening session, where we learned more about the Marang Fund. While our current focus is on women and girls, we acknowledge that we are still learning about LGBTQI+ issues. In the future, we would love to expand our work to be more inclusive and support the LGBTQI+ community.

The summit was even more special as Gender Links celebrated 25 years of impactful work, what an incredible milestone! We are truly grateful that, during these years, our organisation has received support from Gender Links. They are more than just a funder; they walk alongside you throughout the journey, supporting your learning and growth as an organisation.

Our biggest highlight of the summit was winning in the Economic Justice category. We were deeply honoured to receive this award, and it reaffirms that our work is making a meaningful impact in our community in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. We remain committed to advancing economic justice and will continue to empower women and young girls in our community.
