Gender Links proudly hosted the Gauteng Sunrise Campaign Summit and Awards on 25–26 August 2025, celebrating the resilience and entrepreneurship of Sunrise Campaign participants.The Summit featured two categories, Start-Up and Established and honoured women who are building businesses while overcoming personal and financial challenges.Summit Highlights

  • Outstanding winners whose creativity is reshaping their communities.
  • A record-breaking year with two winners in the Established Category and two Runner Ups, a first for the Sunrise Campaign.
Award WinnersStart-Up CategoryWinner: Oneshia Nxongo (Kamphile Project) – Outstanding for her multi-faceted business selling clothes, facial products, and sewing garments. Despite financial struggles, she continues to grow and aspires to sewing school training to refine her skills. Runner Up 1: Anna Mgcobo Runner Up 2: Mamello LietaEstablished CategoryWinners: Andiswa Mokeona, with company called Clotilda.  A powerhouse of creativity, producing perfumes, body lotions, diffusers, air fresheners, and even cockroach repellent, all from her home. Puleng Sehloho – An inspiring organic farmer who maximises limited space through vertical planting and maize meal bag methods to grow vegetables and herbs sustainably. Runner Ups 1: Pulane Moeketsane & Mantoa Mokoena Runner Up 2: Mamello LietaWe salute all Sunrise Campaign participants for their courage, creativity, and resilience.
