Prudence Mathapelo Makhubela is a communications and community development practitioner passionate about creating safe and inclusive spaces where young people can learn, grow and thrive. Her advocacy focuses on preventing gender based violence through education, dialogue and digital engagement, with a particular interest in supporting girls and boys to become positive agents of change. She believes lasting social change begins with early intervention, meaningful conversations and empowering young people with knowledge and confidence.
Background
Prudence has experience in communications, community engagement, advocacy support and programme coordination through her work with South African Women in Dialogue. Her work includes supporting advocacy campaigns, developing digital content, organising community dialogues and leadership programmes, and contributing to gender equality and social justice initiatives. Her background in communications and storytelling enables her to use digital platforms to raise awareness, encourage dialogue and promote positive social change.

Current Projects / Work
Prudence currently supports communications and advocacy initiatives with SAWID, including programmes focused on women’s leadership, youth empowerment and gender equality. She is also developing youth centred advocacy concepts that promote healthy relationships, emotional wellbeing, digital safety and GBV prevention through community engagement and digital platforms.
