The council has been focusing more on women’s health to combat teenage pregnancy, failed abortions, pelvic inflammatory disease, ectopic pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, HIV and low self esteem.The council seeks to empower young women which will create a stronger community.Some of the activities that the council has engaged in include commemorating the Month of Youth Against AIDS, sharing information on safe sex at the annual Khawa Dune Challenge, providing HPV vaccine to youth and distributing sanitary pads to young women. The council also conducts PACT club in schools where students are taught basic life skills, business skills and exposed to extracurricular activities such as journalism, photography and field trips. Through the PACT club, the council engages students to discuss on various topics including issues relating to sexual reproductive health rights. Some of the topics discussed include peer pressure, teenage pregnancy, decision making, hygiene, mental health, safe sexual practices, alcohol and drugs.The council has on some instances collaborated with the local police and social workers to execute activities.
