Thandeka Paballo Khupuza is passionate about creating sustainable social change through advocacy, community engagement and gender justice initiatives. Her work focuses on combating gender based violence and promoting accountability within local government. She believes that reducing GBV requires empowering women to recognise abuse and seek support, while also equipping boys and men to challenge harmful gender norms, regulate emotions and develop healthy, non-violent masculinities.
Background
Thandeka holds a double major Bachelor of Social Sciences degree in Political Science and International Relations and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Politics Studies, with a research focus on gender studies. She previously worked as an Administrative Assistant for Curious Future Movement, where she supported community outreach, organisational administration and social media engagement. Her academic and practical experience informs her advocacy on gender based violence, human rights and local government accountability.

Current Projects / Work
Thandeka is currently part of the WOSSO Fellowship. Her advocacy interest focuses on addressing the root causes of abuse, including economic abuse, inequality and social norms that perpetuate harm, through education, awareness and community based interventions.
