2005 Gender Justice Barometer

There is urgent need for a National Action Plan to End Gender Violence, with clear targets, indicators, allocation of responsibilities, resources, co-ordinating mechanisms, a monitoring plan and score card to measure progress. This is the main conclusion of the audit of action points made during the 2004 Sixteen Days of Activism cyber dialogues that had South Africans chatting about the worst human rights scourge in our country 10 years after democracy: gender-based violence.
