Zimbabwe: Rolling towards success

My name is Alice Chigama, and my journey with Gender Links has been an exciting one. Since the day I was trained, I have understood that building strong linkages is key to my business's survival. I have learned that nurturing good relationships with people is vital for growth - it's amazing how a smile and a helping hand can go a long way!

But what really changed the game for me was learning about market research. It's like having a map to hidden treasure - I get to understand the community's needs and challenges, and tailor my business to make a real impact. It's incredibly fulfilling to know I am making a difference.

Joining the program in August 2023 was a turning point. I attended four trainings with GL, and each session was a stepping stone to success. One of the most valuable lessons I learned was about savings groups. It's empowering to know that I can pool resources with like-minded individuals, support each other, and grow our businesses together.

Today, I am proud to say that my luggage marketing business is thriving. I have built a loyal customer base, and my sales have increased significantly. But more than that, I have gained a sense of purpose and belonging in my community. I am excited to see where this journey takes me next!
