Thenjiwe has more than two decades of dedicated experience in gender advocacy, community development, and stakeholder engagement. Her career showcases a strong commitment to combating gender-based violence, safeguarding children, and championing equality for vulnerable populations. 

An award-winning leader, Thenjiwe founded Incema, a non-profit focused on children displaying inappropriate sexual behaviors. She also contributed to the Angels Care Crisis Centre as a consultant. 

Her extensive work includes coordinating the first Thuthuzela Care Centres (TCCs) in KwaZulu-Natal for the National Prosecuting Authority, vital to South Africa's anti-rape strategy. She also helped establish innovative protocols for crisis centers and led impactful campaigns like "I Am a Man." 

Thenjiwe holds a Bachelor’s in Philosophy, Politics, and Law and a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Social Sciences from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She joined Gender Links in January 2025 as the Women’s Voice & Leadership grants and networking coordinator.
