
Seabata Makoae

Seabata, who has more than 15 years of experience in social work and gender equality activism, has a particular interest in the prevention of violence against women and girls and in engaging men and boys on gender equality.
He has worked for, among others, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, the Christian Council of Lesotho, Management Sciences for Health, the Lesotho National Association of the Physically Disabled and the She-Hive Association.
Seabata holds a Diploma in Social Work from the Mindolo Ecumenical Foundation (Zambia); a Certificate in Feminist Leadership for Equity, Justice and Ecology from St Francis Xavier University (Canada); and a Certificate in Critical Investigations into Humanitarianism in Africa from the University of California (US).
Seabata is a trainer and a facilitator on gender-transformative approaches and a MenCare community of practice trainer. He is also a founder and chairperson of the Leseli Savings and Credit Cooperative Society and serves on the board of Methodist High School.
