
Sarah Mistry

CEO of the British Geriatrics Society (BGS) since January 2019, Sarah oversees more than 3 800 members.
Before joining the BGS, Sarah held director-level positions at Bond, a UK network of NGOs working in international development. There she led a major four-year programme, funded by the UK’s Department for International Development, designed to improve the effectiveness of civil society organisations and help them adapt their strategy to respond to changing needs and achieve greater impact.
Sarah is an expert facilitator who has represented the UK NGO network at many global forums. She has held management and evaluation roles at the Big Lottery Fund, Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) International and the British Council, and served on the board of the ScottishPower Foundation, a grantmaking body. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce.
