Managing Editor of The Herald, the biggest daily newspaper inZimbabwe, Ruth has more than 25 years’ media experience and is Vice Chairperson of the Media Institute of  Southern Africa’s Zimbabwe Chapter. 

 Ruth has a Masters degree in International Relations and a Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies,and is passionate about the growth of women in all sectors. She believes the media has a role to play in empowering women. 

 Ruth is a gender and media trainer with 10 years of experience. She is also the gender focal person in the Zimpapers Group, of which The Herald is a member.  

 Ruth is also an alumna of the British Council Leadership Programme and a Women In News, a  global programme founded in 2010 by the World Association of News Publishers to advance gender equality and inclusion in the media industry. 

 Ruth is involved in many local community-based organisations where she works with local leadership to support resource centres and women living with HIV and AIDS.
