
Nomthandazo Mankazana

Nomthandazo began her career with us as an intern in 2011 and was promoted to various portfolios, including being gender and governance officer, alliance and partnerships South Africa officer and gender justice officer.
She has been a part of the research teams that compiled the 2013 and 2015 South Africa Gender Protocol Barometer and is the contributing country author of the 2013, 2014, 2015 SADC Regional Gender Protocol Barometers.
Nomthi left Gender Links to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science at Monash University in South Africa after which she volunteered at the Kwa-Thema Trauma Centre, at the Kwa-Thema Police Station; consulted with South African Women in Dialogue and worked as the European Union project coordinator at the National Shelter Movement of South Africa, based at the Nissa Institute for Women’s Development.
She has contributed to and gathered data for research conducted by the Heinrich Böll Foundation and the National Shelter Movement, housing women who have experienced abuse. Nomthi returned to Gender Links as a grants coordinator in XX.
