A public servant, politician and philanthropist, Matsepo's career includes leadership roles in various government ministries in Lesotho, including Deputy Finance Minister. Notably, she was the first female Principal Secretary in Lesotho’s Ministry of Defense and National Security.  

Matsepo also served in the ministries of Communication and of Foreign Affairs. Her national and regional advocacy for gender equality began with her work in the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus. 

Matsepo followed a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce Management from the National University of Lesotho with a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from the International Institute of Social Studies in The Netherlands. 

Matsepo founded the Morali oa Mosotho Foundation, which supports young girls affected by Covid-19, in memory of her late daughter. She is President of Lesotho Women in Dialogue Lesotho, which works on combating gender-based violence and promoting women’s rights. Matsepo’s lifelong dedication to public service and women’s empowerment earned her an honorary doctorate from GD Goenka University, India.
