Kelly Figaro

Kelly Figaro is deeply passionate about working with people. Kelly, who was a salesperson prior to joining Gender Links Mauritius in March 2022, ensures the shelter’s proper functioning. She also accompanies residents to legal proceedings, such as going to the court for the application of a protection order, the police station to lay a charge or the hospital for medical assistance.  

In addition, Kelly contributes to many charitable causes through her local church. Born into a musical family, Kelly has taken part in shows and performed on various stages to raise funds for children’s causes. 

Since July 2026, Kelly has taken on the position of Safe Haven Coordinator and Admin & Finance Officer. In this role, she is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of Safe Haven Halfway Home, supporting residents and staff, overseeing administrative and financial matters, coordinating activities, and ensuring effective planning, organisation, and follow-up of shelter operations. 

For Kelly, every day is an opportunity to learn, grow, discover new possibilities, and make a positive difference in the lives of the people she supports. Her commitment, empathy, adaptability, and willingness to embrace new challenges continue to shape her professional journey and strengthen her dedication to the Safe Haven community.
