
Emma Kaliya

A human rights and gender and women’s rights activist for more than 25 years, Emma has worked at several organisations, including the Malawi Human Rights Resource Centre, the Danish Institute for Human Rights, the Finnish Refugee Council, Médecins Sans Frontières – France, Population Services International and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent societies.
Emma also worked with Africare Global, an investment and incubation firm, and holds board or trustee positions at a number of institutions in the Southern African Development Community and in Zimbabwe, including: Gender Coordination Network (Malawi), the Southern Africa Aids Trust (Malawi Country Advisory Committee), Partners In Hope Medical Centre (Malawi), the Malawi Electoral Support Network, and the Council for NGOs in Malawi (CONGOMA).
Emma chaired African Women’s Development and Communications Network and she is also a member of the [Zimbabwe?] Country Advisory Committee for UN Women
