Retired journalism expert Emily May Brown maintains an active interest in academia and the media environment.
She has organised an investigative journalism workshop with a team from the Public Media Alliance in the United Kingdom for journalists representing public media institutions in Africa and has served as an adjudicator for the Sanlam Financial Journalism Awards and the Editors’ Forum of Namibia Media Awards.
Emily has a master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Iowa State University, and honours and bachelor’s degrees from the University of South Africa. She was a senior academic in Journalism and Media Technology at the Namibia University of Science and Technology in Windhoek, Namibia.
