Anushka, who joined us in Mauritius in August 2013, won Africa's Most Influential Woman in Business award in the Welfare/Civil Society Organisation category, presented by CEO Global, for her accomplishments at local and regional levels.

Anushka represented Gender Links at the 71st session of the United Nations’ Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women in October 2018, the first time a Mauritian non-governmental organisation presented a Shadow Report to the committee. The Shadow Report comprised inputs from Gender Links Mauritius and local Mauritian NGOs Media Watch Organisation, SOS Femmes and Young Queer Alliance.

In 2017, Anushka also founded the Safe Haven Halfway Home for women and girls in need of shelter due to domestic violence. In 2020 Anushka worked on the European Union cofunded project, Advancing Gender Equality in the Republic of Mauritius.
