About

Gender Links empowers partners through serving as an intermediary for donor funds that often bypass smaller Women’s Rights organisations. Currently GL is managing:
- Women, Voice and Leadership Fund South Africa on behalf of Global Affairs Canada
- Women of the South Speak Out (WOSSO) a consortium formed by two prominent Southern Women’s Rights Organisations (WROs) – Gender Links and ARROW and a renowned UK-based development firm, Mannion Daniels.
- Marang Southern Africa LGBTIQ + Fund. This Fund is a collaboration between Gender Links (GL) and the Botswana Network on Ethics, Law and HIV/AIDS (BONELA), funded by the European Union.
- Voice and Choice Southern Africa fund in partnership with Amplify Change

Testimonials

The TransHope Organisation celebrates Gender Links for 25 years of courageous leadership, transformative advocacy, and unwavering commitment to equality and justice. Your work has opened doors for marginalized voices, especially transgender and gender-diverse communities, to be seen, heard, and protected. Thank you for standing firm against patriarchy, discrimination, and violence, and for creating spaces where dignity, inclusion, and human rights are non-negotiable. Your impact continues to inspire grassroots movements and community leaders like us to rise, resist, and reimagine a just society.
As Gender Links celebrates 25 years of existence, Thusanang Trauma Centre extends heartfelt gratitude for your invaluable support over the past year. Through your funding, we have been able to reach out to victims of GBV and femicide, offering them care, hope, and healing. Your commitment to empowering survivors and strengthening our mission has made a profound difference. Thank you for walking alongside us and for continuing to champion the fight against GBVF.
“Thanks to the unwavering support of the Renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership South Africa Fund, in partnership with Gender Links and Global Affairs Canada, our survivor-led organisation has launched a groundbreaking, community-based paralegal training programme. This isn’t just a training. It’s a movement. A revolution. A rising.”
