The Henties Bay District Aids Committee was established in 2004. The Henties Bay Municipality donated Erf 763, Oshana Street in the Omdel Residential Area and the office was named as Family Health Care Centre. The District Aids Committees were initiated by Medicos Del Mundo Spanish NGO that was operating in Namibia until 2008. The NGO was strengthening the local responses on HIV and Aids and other health related issues. Ever since its inception the Henties Bay District Aids Committee has been responsible for mobilizing and sensitizing the community on sexual health reproduction.The Henties Bay District Aids Committee is a Sub-committee of Arandis CACOC. The committee is having monthly stakeholders meeting every second Monday of the Month. There are 16-18 active stakeholders and action plans are incorporated into the DAC Annual Action plans. The Henties Bay Municipality is having an separate vote for the Family Care Centre with an annual budget of N$ 25,000.00. Erongo RACOC is making provision of N$ 10,000.00 annual activity budget towards the Committee.The DAC is a coordinating framework therefore its objective is to monitor and evaluate stakeholder action plans.
