The urban municipality of Morondava is located in the Menabe region, in southwestern Madagascar. With a population of 75,370, Morondava covers an area of 34 km². The population lives mainly from livestock farming, fishing, and trade. The municipality joined the Center of Excellence initiative in 2012 and also benefited from the “Women and Entrepreneurship” project in 2013.
