Introduction

Tsoili-Tsoili (also spelled Tsoilitsoili) is a community council located in the Leribe District of Lesotho. The community lies at an elevation of roughly 1,600 meters above sea level. It encompasses a number of villages, such as Ha ’Nena (Kolonyama), Ha Botsane, Ha Jobo, Ha Makhula, Ha Manama, Ha Maphomane, Ha Thokoa, and Likatseng, among others. The area also hosts important social infrastructure: for example, in the village of Kolonyama there is Little Flower Primary School and a Little Flower Health Centre, serving the educational and healthcare needs of the local population.
In terms of governance, Tsoili-Tsoili is administered by a community council, which serves as the lowest formal tier of local government in Lesotho. The council is composed of elected councillors (typically between 9 and 15), with up to two chiefs who are nominated to represent traditional leadership. Its responsibilities include local economic planning, land allocation, environmental management, water supply, rural roads, and pre-primary education, among other community-level functions.
