Sanyati Rural District Council’s administrative offices are located in Kadoma town, in Mashonaland West Province, whilst Sanyati RDC is located about 100 kilometers by road, northwest of the city of Kadoma.

Introduction

Sanyati Rural District Council’s administrative offices is located in Kadoma town, in Mashonaland West Province, in northern central Zimbabwe. Sanyati is located on the east bank of the Sanyati River, about 60 kilometers, by road, northeast of the town of Gokwe, on the opposite side of the river.
It lies in about 120km south-west of the city province Chinhoyi and about 140km west of Harare. Sanyati is bordered by Makonde and Gokwe in the north, Kwekwe south, Mhondoro Ngezi and Chegutu in the east. Sanyati RDC is a spoke council in the hub and spoke programme for gender mainstreaming in local government. The council is mentored by Zvimba RDC. Sanyati serves 32,597 households with an average household size of 4.3


Key Achievements

Council had constructed health facilities in remote areas (Msasa and Mari Mari clinics)
Gender Policy in place as well as an Action plan to support Gender mainstreaming.
There is a budget provision for disaster and risk management.
