Rural municipality of Mahazina

With a population of 7,015, the rural commune of Mahazina consists of seven fokontany (villages), 14 primary schools, and two public secondary schools. The main economic activities of the population are agriculture and livestock farming. There is also a mine in the area. Located in the Amoron'i Mania region, Mahazina has only recently gained access to drinking water. The commune is also well known for its tourist sites, which attract many visitors.
