The municipality of Andriampamaky is located in the district of Manjakandriana, region Analamanga. The population of the municipality is estimated at 3,500 inhabitants over 21 km 2. Center of excellence since 2012, the municipality makes considerable efforts for the implementation of its gender and GBV action plan. Located about forty kilometers from the capital, the rural commune of Andriampamaky in the national road linking Antananarivo and Anjozorobe district in the district of Manjakandriana. Due to its geographical location, the economy of this municipality is essentially based on agriculture, livestock farming and trade in basic products. Apart from these activities, transport, the collection of local products are the sources of income for the population. 

The rural commune of Andriampamaky covers an area of 21 km2 composed of 05 neighborhoods (fokontany) it has 3350 inhabitants. The commune is composed of three schools public primary, two general education colleges, a private school, a high school and a basic health center level II. 

Before integrating the center of excellence process with GL, the municipality did not yet have of gender policy. It was found that women did not yet have their place, and this in all areas (economic, social and political). This gap is also noted at the level of the staff of the municipality which is composed of one woman and four men. 

After the intervention of GL and the efforts provided by the municipality, the situation has become very improved, even at the level of staff composition. Currently, the team is composed of three women and two men. 

The integration of gender in the municipality has allowed the municipality to meet the needs practices and strategies of rural women. Indeed, the local policy of the commune has focused on integrating women in development while recognizing that the participation of women in the design, execution of development projects is essential.
