Rural municipality of Ambonaivo

The rural municipality of Ambonaivo is located in the Ambovombe district, Androy Region. The population is 14,072, the majority of whom are women and young people. It comprises 31 villages (Fokontany). It has two preschools and twelve public primary schools. It is one of the communes in the region facing water shortages. Given this situation, it produces cassava, sweet potatoes, and corn. Most of the population is engaged in agriculture and livestock farming.
