Runde Rural District Council is located in Zvishavane Rural District in the Midlands province. It is surrounded by low hills, and lies 97 kilometres west of Masvingo, on the main Bulawayo-Masvingo road.

Runde Rural District Council is located in Zvishavane Rural District in the Midlands province. It is surrounded by low hills, and lies 97 kilometres west of Masvingo, on the main Bulawayo-Masvingo road. Other roads lead from Zvishavane to Gweru, and Mberengwa, south-west. It is also on direct rail links to Gweru and Beit Bridge which then link up with Harare and Bulawayo in Zimbabwe and to Maputo in Mozambique and Pretoria in South Africa.
Its name is derived from the Runde River comprising of Zvishavane-Ngezi and Zvishavane-Runde. According to the 2022 population census council serves 19,719 households with an average household size of 4.3. Meanwhile, Runde RDC is a spoke council in the hub and spoke programme for gender mainstreaming and was mentored by Zibagwe Rural District Council.
