Ramapepe Community Council COE

Ramapepe is a rural community council located in the Leribe District of Lesotho, serving as a focal point for local governance and grassroots development. The area, often referred to as Ha Ramapepe, encompasses a number of villages and lies in a landscape shaped by agriculture and small-scale irrigation projects. Historically, the community has made use of small water bodies such as the Collett (Lionel) Dam for crop production and livestock, underscoring the importance of natural resources in the local economy.

The Ramapepe Council plays a pivotal role in addressing social challenges and promoting inclusive governance. It operates on a framework that emphasizes gender equity — adopting the Ministry of Gender’s Gender and Development Policy — and has established a Gender Action Plan to guide its activities.
