Flacq District COE

Flacq District COE
The District of Flacq derives its name from the region’s topography and this inspired the Dutch in naming this large Eastern District.

Introduction

The District of Flacq derives its name from the region’s topography (the name Flacq is derived from the Dutch word ‘vlakt’ meaning ‘flat’) and this inspired the Dutch in naming this large Eastern District. The Council has split into two since December 2012. Since the Flacq District Council has become part of the COE process, it has covered most of the important stages. A gender action plan was conceived together with the councillors and staff of the council.
