Introduction

Linecurve pink 2x

The town council of Nkurenkuru, since its inception and proclamation as a town in September 2006 has been dominated by men in its administrative and non-administrative structures. There are seven councillors of which four are males and three are females. Currently the council has a total workforce of about 28 permanent staff members of which only 36 per cent are woman.  As it is at the moment, the concept of COE is a new one to most of the management and junior staffs as the council do not have enough information to support this case. The results will only be realised fully and become visible with support of trainings and information sharing between the council and relevant stakeholder such as Gender Links.
