Best known for its historic iron ore mine and the world-famous Ngwenya Glass Factory, the town holds both cultural and economic significance within the country. The Town Board is responsible for overseeing local administration, urban planning, infrastructure maintenance, and the provision of essential services that support orderly development and improve the living standards of residents.
With a focus on sustainable growth and community empowerment, the Ngwenya Town Board works to balance the town’s industrial heritage with modern urban expansion and environmental conservation. It collaborates with national government institutions, private sector partners, and local stakeholders to implement initiatives that promote tourism, entrepreneurship, and efficient service delivery. Guided by principles of good governance, accountability, and innovation, the Town Board aims to position Ngwenya as a clean, vibrant, and economically active border town that contributes meaningfully to Eswatini’s broader socio-economic development.
