Mvurwi is a town in Mashonaland Central province in Zimbabwe surrounded by small scale farmers who are largely agrarian in nature.
Mvurwi is a place which is primarily surrounded by farms and is conducive for farming which is essential in the food production of the country. The council was accorded town status in 2007. The council is a Hub council for Mashonaland Central urban councils in the hub and spoke programme for gender mainstreaming. Mvurwi town council has 6 wards, a population of 15,645 and 4,417 households with a household average size of 3.5


Key Achievements

Council has a junior council with equal representation of girls and boys, led by a female leader, promoting youth participation and leadership.
Developed and amended various policies to accommodate gender issues.
Has a female Town Secretary, promoting women's participation in decision-making.
