Mberengwa Rural District Council is the rural district local authority over Mberengwa District in the Midlands province.
There are 37 administrative wards under Mberengwa Rural District Council. The resettlement wards are only 4 and they comprise of A1 farming schemes and A2 farms. The main administrative offices of Local Authority are based at Mataga Growth Point, which is the District Service Center. The majority of Government departments are based 70km away from Mataga at Mberengwa Rural Service Centre where District Development Coordinator's office is located. Mberengwa District is all rural and has got 48,679 households with an average household size of 4.3.
Mberengwa RDC is a spoke council in the hub and spoke programme for gender mainstreaming in local government. It is mentored by Zibagwe RDC
