Maisa-Phoka Council COE

Maisa Phoka Council is situated in Botha Bothe, but falls under the Leribe district. The area lies at an elevation around 1,655 metres above sea level and comprises numerous villages such as Ha Libenyane, Ha Makakamela (Nkoeng), Ha Makhobalo (Losemaecheri), and Thabana‑Tšooana among others.

The Maisa‑Phoka Community Council is the local governance body responsible for the area’s development, infrastructure, local economic planning, water and sanitation services, land allocation, and community engagement. In Lesotho’s system of decentralised local government, community councils such as this one play a key role in rural service delivery and grassroots participation.
