Lupane Local Board is the provincial capital town in Lupane district for Matabeleland North province, located 172 kilometers from Bulawayo City along the Victoria Falls highway.

 
The home of state-of-the-art Lupane State University (LSU) which is already adding value to the town’s population and investment opportunities. The town covers an area of 23.1 km² with a dam whose capacity of 40 million m² which leverage its investment opportunities where properties that are connected to water reticulation are having 24 hours running water from the taps which distinguishes it from most of the local authorities. The council is a spoke council in the hub and spoke programme for gender mainstreaming in local government. It is being mentored by Bulawayo City Council.
